Gay marriage is the marriage between two people of the same gender. For many years, people have had to fight for their freedom to marry someone they love. Those who are against gay marriage are the ones who are more traditional. They believe a marriage should be between a man and women instaed of thinking that marriage should be between two people who love each other. Prop 8 was a very important prop in 2008. This would determine if same sex marriages were going to be legal. One very important about prop 8 was they way they worded it. No on prop 8 meant that you are for gay marriage while yes on prop 8 meant that you are against gay marriage. This led to confusion which then caused people to vote for the wrong thing. For instance some voted yes on prop 8 thinking that the yes was pro gay marriage. In years prior, people had to hide their sexuality because it was publicly seen as a disgrace. People were publicly beaten and at times killed for being gay. This is not a recent problem, this has been debated for years. Change must start now!
